The team grows to supply Messi
Barça beat an Inter applied and put one foot and a half in the second round with goals from Rafinha, substitute Leo, and Jordi Alba.
A big and supportive Barça in the collective, without Messi, overcame the pitfall of Inter Milan and got a foot and a half in the last 16 of the Champions League with half of the league ahead. Rafinha took Leo’s place, scored the first goal and led the charge in front of a right Inter who had his options and perhaps deserved a goal, but who was overtaken by the Barca game, especially by a midfield that exhibited great clarity of offensive concepts and a lot of defensive solidarity. And it is that, although who covered the space of the leader on the board was Rafinha, it was the team that really supplied Messi. Jordi Alba finished to tie the win with a goal, to avoid scares.
Barça grew in the collective without the talent of Messi. The step forward in the European night was global, beyond some individual performances that, surely, its authors will remember. The two extreme theorists in the case 4-3-3, Rafinha and Coutinho, played inside until they accumulated practically five midfielders and released the bands for the sides. Except in specific moments, Barca had Inter at his mercy.
